Walking into the supermarket, Nora saw Kelvin with her friend Rose. You remember Rose? Rose is Nora’s childhood friend. The shocking thing was, Kelvin didn’t tell Nora he was in Nigeria. I won’t tell you guys if they are dating or not but then you have to find out as you read.

Kelvin? Nora called him to be sure he was the one.

Oh Hi Nora, Rose greeted Nora with a surprise on her face.

Hi baby. Kelvin said with a shock on his face

Kelvin wait I don’t get, you are in Nigeria and even in Benin? Nora asked with Shocked

Well, babe I was going to surprise you for real. Kelvin replied her with a smile on his face.

Surprise me how? We spoke this morning and you didn’t say anything. you acted like you were still in SA. Nora Replied.

Well???? Yes and that’s part of the surprise. Also I met Rose here and I begged her not to tell you. Kelvin Replied.

Girl yes that’s true. Kelvin was feeling bad that he didn’t call you on your birthday and all that and so he decided to stop here first before going home just so he could see you and you guys can travel back together. Rose Replied.

This is not adding up. Rose what are you doing in Benin and why didn’t you tell me you are in Benin? Nora Asked.

Rose phone rang and she stepped away to answer the call without answering Nora’s question.

Babe, I have missed you nau. You have practically ruined the surprise o. I was going to call you to meet up someone at GRA for me then when you get there, you will just be shocked to see me. Kelvin Said laughing.

Well, that would have been shocking. Nora replied.

So why are you here? Kelvin asked.

I came in to pick up somethings before going home tomorrow and then boom I’m seeing you here with my Best friend. Like how? Nora replied.

Anyways babe, let’s forget all that. Now that I’m here and surprised canceled, let’s go. Kelvin said.

So… what about Rose? Nora asked.

Like I said babe, I met rose here so she might as well leave me here. Kelvin replied.

They both head over to the cashier to pay for the things Kelvin Bought and he paid for all Nora bought as well.

So? Where are you staying? Nora asked

Kelvin ignored the question and offered to drop Nora at her place.

Let me take you to your place and also see where you live. Kelvin said. But just as they were about to head to the car Kelvin came in with, his phone rang. He picked the call and said “I’m coming”. Call ended.

Babe, I’m sorry I have to go now, but hey I’m picking you up this evening then we spend the night together before heading home tomorrow. Something urgent just came up and I have to leave. Kelvin said.

But I can come with you. Nora said

Nooo you can’t, it’s not where I will want you to be. So just take a cab, here is some money. Take a cab and I will call you please. He handed some money to her and got into his car and drove off.

Nora stood there confused as to what just happened. First she saw her best friend with her boyfriend, her Best friend answered a call and disappeared without saying anything to her.

Now her boyfriend answered his own call and left her too. What is going on? Nora asked herself. She didn’t know what to make of all of this. She got a cab and went home.

Ah Babe you are back? I was going to call you to buy something for me on your way back. Clara said.

Nora walked in with a sad face dropping the things she got from the supermarket. She sat on the bed looking so sad.

Are you okay? Clara asked.

You won’t believe what happened today. It’s like in the movies. Nora said

What happened. Clara asked

Hmmmmm. Babe I saw Rose today. Nora said

Rose your bestie? Clara asked.

Yes that Rose. Nora said

What’s she doing here? Clara Asked.

Honestly I don’t know and to think she didn’t tell me. Nora said

Wait she lives in Benin? Clara asked.

My dear she doesn’t and I don’t even know what she is doing here. Nora said

Maybe she come meet man. Clara said laughing.

Or maybe that Man is Kelvin. Nora said quietly

Kelvin Ke? Abeg which Kelvin? Kelvin is not in Nigeria nau. Clara said confused.

I saw Kelvin and Rose together at the supermarket. Nora said with a teary voice.

This girl you are confusing me o. Kelvin and Rose together in Benin here? Two of you spoke this morning and he didn’t say he was in Nigeria nau Abi what are you saying? Clara asked.

Babe so this was what happened. Nora narrated all that happened in the supermarket to Clara and Clara had her mouth Opened because she was shocked at what Nora was saying.

Babe wait o. So Rose your best friend is dating Kelvin your boyfriend? Clara asked.

I didn’t say so please. And when I saw them there were not holding each other or kissing. I just saw them buying things together. The only surprising thing is that both of them didn’t say anything about them in Benin for that matter. Nora said.

Kelvin said he will come see me this evening and we will go home together tomorrow. I’m sure he will have an explanation because all he said was he wanted to surprise me. So I’m not sure he came in with Rose and I can’t say. Nora added.

“You see one thing with you is, you will always give excuses for this guy. Every time he hurts you, you give excuses for him and that’s exactly what you are doing now. You are just too blind abeg”. Clara said.

“I’m not blind Clara. I don’t just want to jump into conclusion nau. Rose might have her reasons for not telling me which I will definitely hear from her but let me wait till I see her or maybe give her a call. Things don’t  work by jumping into conclusions.” Nora said.

“Okay o madam. Carry on”. Clara said while she stood up to left the room.

It was 6pm and neither Kelvin nor Rose have called Nora. She had packed her bags ready to leave. She picked up her phone and called Kelvin but he didn’t pick up. Sent WhatsApp messages and no reply. She called her friend Rose and her number was switched off.

She had given Kelvin 10 missed calls already and yet no reply.

Clara walked in seeing her bags all packed up to leave.

“You don pack?” Clara asked.

“Yes I have and I’m calling Kelvin but he is not picking up. Called like 10 times now”. Nora said.

“Well if I talk now, you won’t listen, so let me save my speech for people that will listen to me. Keep calling him and he might just pick up”. Clara said rolling her eyes.

Nora didn’t reply her because she hate to admit that her friend was right but she still wants to give Kelvin the benefit of doubt that he is busy.

Nora phone rang and she quickly pickup but disappointed at who the caller was.

“Hi dear. Ben said.

We all know Ben right? Ben was the guy who is badly in-love with Nora but she is clearly not interested. Ben have not succeeded in hanging out with Nora yet and he is still persistent.

“Oh Ben it’s you”. Nora said

“Well..yeah it’s me and I’m sure you were not expecting my call”. Ben said

“Yeah I wasn’t. I thought it was someone else”. Nora replied.

“Anyways that’s fine”. Ben replied.

“What are you up to”? Ben asked.

“Well I’m home, packing my stuff up and getting ready to travel tomorrow morning”. Nora said.

“Can we see this evening at least before you leave?” Ben asked.

“Hmmmm I don’t think so, I’m so tired and really don’t want to hangout”. Nora said.

@That’s fine then. Hope you are good”. Ben asked.

“Yes I’m fine thank you. Nora replied.

“Alright take care”. Ben said and ended the call.

Nora tried calling Kelvin again and it was same thing.

8:30pm and still no sign of Kelvin or even a call back. Nora picked up her phone and called Ben.

“Hi Ben. Nora said

“Hi dear. How are you”?Ben asked

“I’m fine. Well I just want to apologize for always turning you down”. Nora said.

“Oh no that’s fine. I get it okay? So no stress”. Ben replied.

“So??? yes we can see but just for an hour if possible because I’m really tired and I feel like I  haven’t been nice to you”. Nora said.

“Oh that’s very nice of you. But I’m actually busy right now, but yeah anything for you. So just text me your address and I will come pick you”. Ben said.

“Okay will send it now”. Nora said and ended the call.

“Finally o, she wants to see this sweet and caring guy. Ah this one sweet me”. Clara said.

“I just feel like I haven’t been good to him and he is so understanding”. Nora said.

“Of course you haven’t been nice to him”. Clara said.

“Well, I have sent the address, so let me finally hangout out with him before I go home and also at least get to know him”. Nora said.

“Good for you”. Clara said

Few Mins later Nora Phone rang and it was Kelvin calling.

She picked up.

“Hey what’s going on? I have been calling you”. Nora asked.

“Babe I’m so sorry. I got caught up with stuff and didn’t even know my phone was ringing. So sorry”. Kelvin said.

“That’s fine”. Nora said.

“So this is what is going to happen, get a cab and come to the address I will be sending to you now”. Kelvin said.

“I thought you said you will come and get me”. Nora asked.

“Nora I’m tired nau. I can’t come there besides it’s same thing. Just get a cab and I will pay don’t worry. So see you soon”. Kelvin said and ended the call.

Nora was surprised he ended the call.

She stood up and was getting her bag ready to leave.

“Wait o, you are really going to meet him?” Clara asked.

“Yes nau. He has called and explained things to me”. Nora said.

“What will happen to Ben”? Clara asked.

“I will tell him not to bother that I can’t go out again. I didn’t even want to go before”. Nora said

“Ehhh God this girl will not kill me”. Clara said clapping her hands.

“Kelvin clearly have used jazz for you because what rubbish is this?”. Clara said.

“Clara o, can you pick some guy over your boyfriend you have known for years? Can you?” Nora asked  but Clara didn’t reply.

“You want me to pick one guy over Kelvin when I don’t even know if he is pretending or not.Please spare me”. Nora said angrily

“Well yes I will pick another guy over my boyfriend if my boyfriend is treating me with so much disrespect”. Clara said

“Kelvin haven’t disrespected me so please don’t even go there”. She said

Her phone rang and it was Ben but she refused to pick.

“Pick up nau what if he is already here?” Clara said

“I’m not picking up, will send him a message later and tell him I slept off”. He should understand. Nora said.

“That’s how people lose good thing because of trash”. Clara said.

“Na you sabi”. Nora said while dragging her luggage to leave. Bye girl. Love you and see you next semester.

Nora got to the hotel Kelvin was lodged and on getting inside the room, Kelvin’s hotel room was a luxurious sanctuary, a hidden gem nestled on the top floor of a charming hotel. As Nora entered, her eyes widened in awe. The room was adorned with tasteful decor, a mix of modern elegance and classic charm. Soft, muted colors dominated the palette, creating a serene atmosphere. She could suspect something was off but didn’t say anything.

“Babe are you the only one here?” She asked.

“Well yeah”. Kelvin replied.

“So let me drop your luggage over here and if you need to eat anything, just tell me”. Kelvin said

“No don’t worry I’m fine”.

Nora’s phone kept ringing and it was Ben calling. She had to put the phone on silent and dropped it in her bag.

Kelvin pulled Nora close, his eyes locking onto hers, and he whispered, “You are the most beautiful thing in my life.” And I have missed you so much. Kelvin said

Their hearts beat in harmony as he leaned in, capturing her lips with his in a fiery, passionate kiss.

Their tongues danced in a fervent embrace, their hands exploring each other’s bodies with an irresistible hunger.

Their kisses grew more passionate with each passing moment, igniting a fire that consumed them both.

As their desire reached its peak, Kelvin’s hands began to explore Nora’s curves, sending shivers down her spine. With a breathless voice, she whispered, “Kelvin, I want you, but I need to tell you something.”

Kelvin, his eyes filled with desire, stopped and looked into Nora’s eyes, his heart pounding. “What is it, Nora?” he asked, his voice filled with anticipation.

Nora took a deep breath and said, “I love you, Kelvin, but I’m not ready yet and I don’t want a rushed in the heat of the moment.”

Kelvin, though disappointed, couldn’t hold back his desire any longer. He leaned in for another kiss, his need for her overwhelming.

But Nora gently pushed him back and said, “I’m sorry, Kelvin, but I can’t do this. Our love deserves more than a hurried moment.”

“I don’t get you Nora”. Kelvin said.

”We have been dating now for years and still I can’t have access to your body? You know what don’t answer that. It’s fine”.

Disappointed and struggling to contain his desires, Kelvin took a step back from Nora. He couldn’t hide the frustration in his eyes.

“I need a moment alone,” he mumbled, his voice heavy with longing.

Without another word, Kelvin left the room, leaving Nora behind. He went into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him, trying to compose himself and cool the fire of his desires. It was a challenging moment for both of them.

Nora, from the other side of the closed bathroom door, took a deep breath, realizing she needed to have an honest conversation with Kelvin about her feelings.

“Kelvin,” she began, her voice tinged with vulnerability, “I want you to know that I love you deeply, and I’m incredibly attracted to you. But I’m not ready for this step yet because I want it to be a beautiful, memorable experience for both of us, and I want to be completely sure.”

I hope you can understand and respect my decision, and I promise that when the time is right, it will be more special than we can imagine.”

Kelvin came out mins later and hugged her. “It’s fine and I’m sorry I overreacted. So yes I’m ready to wait for you babe”. Kelvin said.

“Thanks babe”. Nora replied him with a kiss and they both had a good night catching up from what they have missed.

After their heartfelt conversation, Kelvin and Nora lay together in the dimly lit hotel room. The air was thick with emotions, and the quiet reassurance of their love filled the space.

However, in the middle of the night, Nora woke up, her heart racing as she reached out and realized Kelvin was not by her side. She sat up, a sense of worry gnawing at her.

Panic rising, she called out softly, “Kelvin? Where are you?” But there was no response.

She reached out for the door and as she was about to open it, Kelvin was at the door about to use the room key to get in.

“Ah Babe were were you? Nora asked.

“I didn’t want to disturb you, I went to the bar to just get some drinks and settle up my bill because we will be leaving in the morning.

“Don’t worry come in.Nora looked at Kelvin’s hand and couldn’t find any drink with him, She had questions but chose not to say anything.

He took her back to bed and laid beside her. Nora could not sleep as she was wondering where Kelvin was and why he had such a shock on his face when he saw her open the door. So many things was going through her mind. She just laid in bed gazing with so many thoughts in her mind. She heard a knock on the door and she looked at Kelvin who was deep asleep. She reached out to the door.

Who is it? She asked but no reply.

She finally opened the door and…
